Why Go Natural?

Going natural was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I've been natural over 9 months and its been an awesome journey. I decided to go natural because I was fed up with the cycles my hair went through with relaxers. It would grow, then break off so I would cut it so it could grow and then break off again. Not only that, I only liked my hair with a fresh relaxer so after 2 weeks the texture wasn't as soft and I would hate it until the next relaxer. I knew I needed a drastic change so one day (sometime in May 09) I decided i wouldn't get anymore relaxers and attempt to transition to natural hair. That transition ended 4 months later and I did my big chop September 11, 2009.

I think going natural was a great thing for me but I won't use my blog to critisize those who choose to relax. I will only speak from my perspective as a new natural.

So why go natural:
1. Relaxers are very harsh on the hair, expecially in combination with color.
2. Natural hair loves water!
3. Save money from touch-ups and spend it on others stuff.
4. You can rock so many more styles as a natural.
5. You would be amazed on how many people will love your hair and how many people you'll inspire.
6. Your man will love that you don't wrap your hair up at night any more.
7. You will meet alot of really nice naturals because we LOVE to talk hair!

That's just a few reasons I have. There are tons more!
